Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Preparing for submission

Manuscripts submitted to Alostath should follow the recommendations stated in the guidelines. Incomplete submissions will not be considered

Manuscript preparation

Language

All articles should be written in Arabic or English providing an Abstract in the other language.

Manuscript Layout

The paper should follow the traditional layout where each section begins in a new page  including figure and table legends, on separate sheets. Submissions my include all or some sections according to the nature of the submission article whether research or review paper. But section headings are numbered using a maximum of three levels of headings, i.e. capitals, italics, bold etc

Title page 

Title page should be organized in the following way:

1.    Title of manuscript

2.    Name of author(s).

3.    Name of department(s) and institution(s).

4.    Name and full postal and email address of the corresponding

During the review process  all identifying information from all documents should be removed.

The title

The title should be informative and accurate and at the same time trigger the interest of the reader. A short running head will be derived from the title to appear on each page of the paper.

Abstract

 Articles must include a structured abstract of 200-300 words and include information for a reader to whether or not to proceed to the full text of the article. The abstract should be structured to include 5-10 key words not present in the title.

Body of the Manuscript

The body contained all sections that are required to make a good scientific paper acceptable and includes:

Introduction

 (motivation, problem identification and a short literature survey), 

Materials and methods

Al the materials and methods used in the research and any published methods should be referenced whether used or modified.  The design of the research and data treatment methods should also be mentioned.

Results

All results are stated as tables, figures or otherwise that show the result of the researcher and how it was obtained.

discussion

The discussion usually is the researchers interpretation of the results and usually include comparisons supporting, defending or disagreeing with other methods and/or results

Conclusion

This gives a very short summery of the important findings indicating the purpose of the research.

Acknowledgement

All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship manuscript including those who provided help in writing assistance, or financial and material support should be listed in an acknowledgments section of the title page

References 

References are numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Identify references in the text by arabic numerals and in parentheses [e.g. (20)]. References should follow the standard format.
